Granville Honors Teachers

At the opening convocation on Monday, August 18, members of the Granville Education Foundation (GEF) and the GEVSD Administration presented three teachers with awards for their outstanding service to the students in the district.  Jill Riggs and Sara Sharp were awarded the Jody VanTine Award.  This award honors the memory of former GES 2nd grade teacher Jody VanTine.  Jody passed away at a young age, but not before she had a profound impact on the students and staff at GES.  The selection and funding of this award is provided for by GEF.  Both Riggs and Sharp were humbled and honored to receive this award. 
















Emily Goins, a third grade teacher, was presented the Dow Chemical Excellence in Math and Science Education Award.  This award is given annually to a teacher who demonstrates excellence in teaching math or science. Superintendent Jeff Brown stated, "Granville Schools are so proud of these staff members and all of our staff who provide a world class education to the children of Granville".
