Rachel's Challenge at GMS Sept. 9

GMS is again hosting Rachel’s Challenge for an all-school assembly and small group leadership training on Wednesday, Sept. 9 - please note this is a day earlier than previously communicated. All members of the community are welcome to attend this free event from 8:15-9:15 a.m. in the GHS theatre.

Rachel’s Challenge equips and inspires individuals to replace acts of negativity with kindness and compassion. Rachel’s Challenge is based on the life and writings of Rachel Scott, the first victim of the Columbine High School shootings in 1999. Through her example, Rachel’s Challenge is making a positive impact in the lives of millions of people each year.

Rachel’s story provides a powerful example of how simple acts of kindness motivate us to consider our relationships with the people we see every day. It gives us permission and motivation to start our own chain reaction of kindness and compassion with small steps, which positively impact the climate and culture of our schools and community.

After the assembly there is a smaller group leadership portion from 9:30-11 a.m. Please join us to hear more information about how GMS will incorporate this into the school year.
